LCC Mom's Programs

Moms Time:
This program will start in the fall. It will offer a time for mothers and their infants to meet other mothers, socialize and share information. Some of these women have quit jobs to stay home with their newborns.

The birth of a child is a major change in a womans life. Many women experience depression and isolation with the major life style changes that occur after the birth of a baby and the loss of the work environment. Women in this area are particularity affected by this as they are living in a somewhat isolated community.

Songs of our Mothers:
We are still in the process of conceiving a program where we will make recordings of our senior citizens singing the songs their mothers sang to them and the songs they sang to their children. These tapes will be provided to the families of the seniors and they will used as part of an oral history of Linnton. This is an ongoing project.
